Provincial Government
Under Canada's federal sytem, the powers of government are shared betwen the federal government, ten provincial governments and three territories. The provincial governments and territories are primarily responsible for public schooling, health and social services, highways, the administration of justice and local government ( through municipalities.) They are free to determine levels of provincial public services and each provincial government has to be true to its regional economic and cultural interests in its own fashion.

There are about 20 departments in Alberta provincial government. The provincial government has a lot of responsibilities. The provincial government has to provide health services to everyone in Alberta. The provincial government has to make laws too. The premier is the leader of our provincial government.
